UK - KHV Virus ALERT

A warning about the new KHV Herpes virus in the Colne Valley.
A press release from the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs stating a ban on movement of any fish from Weller Pool in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire where the virus has been found. Movement from the surrounding waters and greater London has also been restricted.
Other recent waters have restrictions are Earlswood Lakes in Solihull and Mereside Pools also in Solihull.
There are no implications for human health.

FRANCE - 6 Nations Carp Tournament

The French organization team have organized a competition held from the 5th of October to the 10th October on Lac des Vieilles Forges and the river Meuse in France.

The cost per pair is 460 euros.

Competitors can use boats and echo sounders and teams can move swims during the match.

FRANCE - Etang de Margot

Elie Godsi caught this 36lb 2oz Koi Common from Etang de Margot in August this year.

Using a snowman rig made up of a trimmed tiger nut and a Quest Bait Pineapple Crush pop-up over a bed of Quest Baits Garlic Feast particle mix.

Included in his catch was another koi at 30lb 9oz, plus two 20's and a 19 pounder.

Elie said,

“Tactics were to bait heavily (half a big bucket spread over an area of about half a tennis court in size) with Quest Baits Garlic Feast with added hemp and tigers onto harder clay areas in open water. Time spent prodding about from a boat with a landing net pole was well worth it. Hookbaits were tigers and Quest Baits Pineapple Crush pop ups. I had some problems with poisson chats but only some of the time.”

Etang de Margot is around 12 acres in size, situated in a rural and agricultural landscape, and within 2.5 hours drive from the port of Caen. The lake can be booked through Angling Lines.

Being very active carp anglers for many years we have noticed a lack of quality information on Carp waters for the novice and obsessive Carp angler alike. There are many pages on the web that are full of useful information and several contain a quantity of carp waters. The pages which follow will eventually show many thousands of waters world wide.

If you know of a water you have visited let us know, we have grown based on the feedback of thousands of anglers over the time we have been in existence.

As a Member click on the Country you are looking for, login to the Members area (ID and Password) then select the area or waters in more detail.

It's so easy to find a new venue this way. Using this method will also spread the angling pressure more evenly around the waters. Another advantage of these web pages is that the information stored here is continually updated on a daily basis.

The pages on each water are designed to be printed on two sheets of A4 paper. Sheet 1 give fishing information, sheet 2 shows how to get there, shops, postal address, supplies, weather, and the nearest fishing tackle shop.

The information stored is correct at the time of insertion, and are constantly updating it but we suggest a quick check with the fishery itself would be a good idea before a trip. We should be grateful to receive any information regarding new waters or changes in regulations of existing entries.
