This water had a huge stock of carp mostly commons reaching to over 60lb. In 1995 the lake had a fish kill resulting in the deaths of many of the large carp. Most of the twenty pound plus fish survived including some larger carp too.

No night fishing, maximum 2 rods, restricted fishing area due to a bird sanctuary.

From a licence office in Calle de Jorge, Juan 39, Madrid some 12 miles away.
Comments.
This huge reservoir is used for irrigation purposes as the land is usually very dry and dusty. A well known shallow water with the deepest parts at the dam wall as usuall. Fishing areas are limited to two sections of banks due to the bird sanctuary.

Location.
Head north from Madrid on the M607. Pass all the directions to Colmenar Viejo and follow the M609 to Soto del Real. Turn left onto the M608 and the water is on the left.
